Integrated Neck Collar and Shoulder Stabilization System
When utilized as a foundational component, the neck brace assembly serves as a structural base for integrating the three-dimensional protective collar into the main body armor carrier. The contoured collar is designed to be inserted beneath the shoulder straps of the primary vest platform and securely anchored to both the front and rear panels using heavy-duty hook-and-loop (Velcro) fastening.
This configuration enhances load distribution across the shoulders, significantly improving wearer comfort during extended operational use. In addition, it delivers expanded ballistic coverage to the upper shoulder and cervical region—effectively addressing the common limitation of insufficient shoulder and neck protection found in minimalist structural carriers such as the JPC platform.
The stand-up collar component of the neck protector features multiple hook-and-loop adjustment points, allowing operators to fine-tune fit, height, and compression according to mission requirements and personal preference. This modular adjustment system ensures stability without restricting head movement or situational awareness.
Internally, the neck protector incorporates pearl cotton padding to improve comfort, cushioning, and load absorption. The padding is permanently sewn into the structure and is not designed for direct removal. Users requiring ballistic modification must carefully open the stitched seams to access and alter the internal core material, after which the outer fabric must be professionally resewn to restore structural integrity.
The shoulder pads are equipped with lateral hook-and-loop panels for secure closure and positional stability. Additional hook-and-loop attachment points at both the front and rear allow seamless integration with the main armor carrier, ensuring consistent alignment and minimizing shifting during dynamic movement.
